Meet Boomi: The Soundtrack Behind San Diego’s Favorite Music Bingo Nights 🎶
🎧 It Started With a Doodle
If you’ve ever played Music Bingo with us in San Diego, you already know—our game sheets don’t always stay “just game sheets.”
They turn into:
sketches
inside jokes
full-on masterpieces
We love flipping through them after events. It’s like a little time capsule of the night—what songs hit, who was vibing, and what kind of chaos went down.
One night, our friend Jack—who’s studying animation—sketched something that stopped us mid-cleanup.
It wasn’t just a doodle.
It was a character.
And just like that, the idea hit us:
👉 What if Bingo Remixed had its own mascot?
👉 Someone who felt like the energy in the room
👉 Someone our Bingo Fam could actually relate to
🔊 Inspired by the Music (and the Madness)
We went back to our roots—our logo.
That boombox? That’s the heart of what we do.
Music + Bingo + a room full of people yelling “WAIT I KNOW THIS SONG!”
So naturally, our character had to come from that.
Not just a mascot…
👉 A personality
👉 A vibe
👉 A little chaotic (in the best way)
🎨 Enter Junior
Once we knew what we wanted, there was only one person we trusted to bring it to life.
Our guy Junior—an Orange County tattoo artist we always make time to visit at Knott’s Berry Farm festivals.
If you’ve ever seen his work, you get it:
He blends pop culture in ways that just work
Think Charmander… wearing a Charizard hoodie
Familiar, but flipped into something new
That’s literally what we do with music bingo and bar games in San Diego.
So it just made sense.
We reached out… and Junior got to work.

What followed was a whole lot of back and forth—refining, tweaking, and dialing in the details until it felt right.
And when we say details… we mean it.
👉 Boomi’s design has hidden Easter eggs
👉 Little nods to the culture, the game, and the vibe
👉 Stuff you’ll probably notice at your 3rd… maybe 5th event 😏
When Junior sent over the final hand-drawn version, we knew:
This wasn’t just a mascot.
This was someone.
💻 Bringing Boomi to Life
Next step: digitizing.
We sent Boomi (still unnamed at the time) over to another creative friend of ours—someone who’s worked with us on logos, websites, and more.
That’s when Boomi went from:
👉 Sketch
👉 to full-on character you’ll see everywhere
Clean. Crisp. Ready for the spotlight.
😈 The Name (and the Personality)
At first… “Boomie” felt obvious.
Boom box → Boomie. Easy.
But if you know us, you know we don’t just go with the easy answer.
We wanted something that matched the energy:
playful
a little unpredictable
chaotic good
So we took inspiration from King Bumi (yeah… Avatar fans, you already know) and landed on:

Same spirit. Same chaos. Just… Bingo Remixed.

Boomi isn’t just part of the brand.
He is the energy of our events.
